Yes, I know that sounds strange. I was raised in a Christian household. And taught the Bible from a young age. But even a year ago, I couldn\u2019t have clearly explained what Christians believe about salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have wandered my way into Reformed theology. Just from studying. And from listening to guys like RC Sproul and John MacArthur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s the essence of it&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>Five Solas<\/strong>&nbsp;are five short Reformation statements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sola Scriptura<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Scripture alone is the final authority.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sola Gratia<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 salvation is by grace alone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sola Fide<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 justification is through faith alone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Solus Christus<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Christ alone is the mediator and basis of salvation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Soli Deo Gloria<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 all glory belongs to God alone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A simple way to remember them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture alone teaches that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What excites me is how completely this puts salvation in God\u2019s hands\u2014and gives Him all the glory for it. My dad was very much into theology.
